Waconia High School senior Carissa Dock’s accomplishments and accolades are far too many to count on one hand (not even on both hands and both feet). This year alone, she’ll be running varsity track and cross country—after already receiving a combined nine varsity letters and breaking school records in her athletic career. She’s also a drum major in the marching band, vice president of student council, secretary of the National Honor Society and volunteers with America Reads every Wednesday before school. “I think my philosophy coming into high school is ‘try everything,’” Dock says. “Then find what you really like and focus in on that.”
Being involved in such a variety of activities throughout her high school career has connected Dock with almost every corner of Waconia High School. “I think it broadens my social horizons,” she says. “And introduces me to everyone.”
After high school, Dock plans to study biomedical engineering on a pre-med track for orthopedic surgery.
