Senior Spotlight: Abby Palkert

Southwest Christian High School’s Abby Palkert.

Abby Palkert graduates in May from Southwest Christian High School in Chaska where her winning attitude and achievement on and off the volleyball court has brought her accolades and opportunities. A top performer on her school’s Class A State champion volleyball team, Palkert coaches 6th-8th graders at summer volleyball camps. Palkert is also an Ambassador, representing her school at open houses and panels, makes new students feel at home through her role on the Hospitality Committee, and is active in her school’s drama program.

Palkert’s achievements have garnered her academic, athletic and other scholarships and a place in the Honors Program at Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida where she will be majoring in Biology with an emphasis on Marine Sciences this fall. “I have always loved animals,” she says. “I was born in California, and spent a lot of time playing in the ocean when we went back to visit.” A Christian university, Palm Beach Atlantic was a natural choice for Palkert who serves on the worship team at her church and is a summer camp counselor at Village Creek Bible Camp in Lansing, IA.
