Chanhassen’s Lindsey Dobbins, senior at Minnetonka High School, is recognized nationally for her academics and artwork.
Dobbins is a National Advanced Placement Scholar, which means she’s passed 8 advanced placement exams with a score of 4 or 5—well above the passing score of 3. “It’s nice to be honored for something I put so much time and effort into,” she says.
When she was a sophomore, one of Dobbins’ drawings won a National Gold Key award and was displayed at the Department of Education in Washington, D.C. “I did the drawing that won in pencil, but lately I have been doing more of my drawings in colored pencil or charcoal,” she says. As a sophomore, five of her pieces earned state and regional Gold Key awards.
After high school, Dobbins is interested in pursuing a degree in political science to start a career in public policy or law.
