Read 'Factfulness' to Prove You're Smarter than a Chimpanzee

books, book bindings

In all low-income countries across the world today, what percentage of girls finishes primary school?

A: 20 percent
B: 40 percent
C: 60 percent

Would you be surprised to learn the answer is C? If so, then you should read Factfulness: Ten Reasons We’re Wrong about the World—and Why Things are Better Than You Think by Hans Rosling.

Rosling shows how even the most educated people in the world have a distorted perspective on simple global trends. In fact, he says that chimpanzees do as well or better on his 10-question quiz than most of the bankers, teachers, journalists and all-around sharp minds of the world.

This is a fun, revelatory read. You will be able to impress your friends with your knowledge of global trends, and let’s face it, we all want to be smarter than a chimpanzee.
