There’s new music being made in Chanhassen, as the MacPhail Center for Music opens its fourth metro location this month.
Located in a strip mall across from the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, the new space offers lessons for voice and 15 instruments, as well as music therapy, Early Childhood Music, group lessons and Suzuki Talent Education classes for young children. However, the school does not cater exclusively to kids.
“Expanding to Chanhassen really fit into our mission of spreading an exceptional music learning experience to everyone—of all ages and abilities,” public relations and marketing coordinator Judy Boeckel says.
While the studio space officially opens this month, the school spent fall 2013 testing the waters in the new area by offering music lessons at Chanhassen High School and the Family Learning Center in Chaska. Boeckel says that the lessons have been successful, and the southwest metro community has been very responsive: “It’s such a vibrant arts community, and we’re excited to be a part of it.”
