In the June issue barn quilts of Carver County offer art for everyone and Chanhassen's very own ledgend, Prince, is honored.

While Prince fans everywhere were stunned at the news of his death, the city of Chanhassen and local law enforcement had a different challenge: When your city suddenly becomes the epicenter of an international news story, how do you keep all your residents and your visitors safe?

Steve Zeller loves to travel. He’s visited 42 countries, made numerous trips to Asia and lived abroad in Germany.

In the days following Prince’s death, fans paid their respects and shared memories at Paisley Park and throughout the southwest metro.

The barn quilts of Carver County do not lie on the foot of your bed. Nor do they hang on art gallery walls. Instead, you will find these community art pieces as you drive through Carver County’s scenic countryside, where the art lives outdoors, hanging on the sides of historic barns.

With the arrival of summer comes the firing up of grills, the application of sunscreen and the return of avid golfers to their beloved pristine greens.

Human trafficking—two words that most suburbanites would rather kick back to an urban curb. After all, it’s a big city problem, right? Tragically, there’s a market for it in cities large and small. Human trafficking occurs all over the world, the United States, Minnesota and in this community.

Matt Udermann knew he wanted a record-breaking something. He and his team, including his now-wife Krista, brainstormed a few ideas—world’s largest baseball, post-it note, license plate. But after Udermann found historic ties of mustaches in Chaska, the World’s Largest Mustache was created.

If everyone in Minnesota has their own Prince story, most residents of Chanhassen have a handful. Whether they danced at Paisley Park or happened upon him during a late night grocery run at Cub Foods, Prince was around.

We just didn’t make a fuss about it.
