What could be better than an invigorating walk or toga run around beautiful Lake Calhoun on a Friday evening? A beautiful course with baklava and Greek dancing at the end, of course! For the 2nd year, Chloe’s Fight is partnering with the Taste of Greece, Twin City’s largest celebration of Greek culture. Start near City Square Park in Waconia, and wind your way through town and around Lake Waconia on one of the most scenic half-marathon courses in the area. If 13.1 miles seems like a few miles too many, you can also run the course as part of a 2-person relay or sign up for a 10 mile or 5K run/walk. There’s also a Kids’ Run and a Dog Day 5K. This year the DNR is celebrating Arbor Day and Arbor Month by encouraging families to play in natural settings such as your backyard, a nearby woodlot, or forested area.
The 2014 State Arbor Month Celebration will be at Oak Hill Park in St. Louis Park. The event will give families a chance to play with nature, while watching some of the best tree climbers in the state compete at the Minnesota Tree Climbing Championship.

This community-wide 5K run/walk will raise awareness about human trafficking. Proceeds from the event will go to local organizations dedicated to helping sexually exploited youth. $25 per person or $20 per person for groups of 10 or more.
