Ping-Pong Tournament at Town Hall Brewery

Table tennis comes to Town Hall Brewery for the brewpub’s Ping-Pong Tournament, 11 a.m.–6 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 31. All skill levels are invited to play for a $20 entry fee that guarantees at least four games. The tournament includes round-robin pool play followed by an elimination round. Visit Town Hall Brewery to register by Jan. 29.

The tournament champion will win the grand cash prize — estimated at more than $250.

Back to School 5k Run & Walk

Back to School 5K and Social – Saturday, September 12 We’re excited to announce a new event to kick off the 2015-2016 school year! On Saturday, September 12, Minnewashta Elementary will host the inaugural Back to School 5K run and walk, followed by the return of the Back to School Social. We hope that these exciting events will bring together our school community with healthy, fun activities for the whole family. 5K registration will be open soon.

Women Run the Cities

September 27 Celebrate sisterhood at Women Run the Cities, one of ESPN’s top five races for women in the nation. Organizers say that this popular event—featuring 10-mile and 10K runs, a 5K run/walk and a girls’ 1-mile run—is great for experienced runners and newbies alike. The courses start and finish at gorgeous Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis, and track along the Mississippi River. Register online; spots fill up quickly. Girls’ run open to ages 4–12. Prices vary by registration date and distance; $15–$70 and up.

Hot Dash 5K & 10 Mile

Spring may be just around the corner, but tough Minnesotans know that to keep warm, you’ve got to keep moving. Runners from around the Twin Cities will brave the brisk weather to kick off their running season. Whether this is your hundredth race or you’re still learning to tie your tennis shoes (that’s right, kids, you can join, too!), be sure to join in the fun and the post-race party featuring classic Minnesota dishes, a lumberjack costume contest and a winter beard competition. $45–$65 until March 2; $51–$71 until race day. 9 a.m.

Twin Cities Snow Shuffle

The biggest snowshoe race in Minnesota is brought to you right here in the Twin Cities. Participants come from near and far to participate in this challenging trek, open to hikers of all ages and abilities. Races include a 10K, 5K, kids’ fun run and a 5K dog walk. For serious snowshoers, the Twin Cities Snow Shuffle is a regional qualifier for the US Snowshoe Association’s 2015 Dion National Snowshoe Championship race. Whether you’re racing, walking or just cheering on the competitors, this event celebrates the beauty of a Minnesota winter. $20–$40.

Yoga in the Gardens

Enjoy a break from all of the holiday chaos with Yoga in the Gardens. Alleah S. will be leading this session in the Fireplace Room. Teen Swimming and Pizza Party

If your teen is looking for some fun during the cold winter, bring them to the Chaska Community Center for a teen swimming and pizza party. This pool party will have games like water basketball, water polo, capture the brick, relay races, and more. Pizza and beverages will follow the pool activities.
