With Lori Dokken at the piano and an all-girl rhythm section, Twin Cities' vocalists Judi Vinar, Debbie Duncan, Patty Peterson and Rachel Holder Hennig turn the Fireside Theatre into a celebration of some of the matriarchs of music. Perceptions of Norway seeks to expand common perceptions of Norwegians and their culture. Through the eyes of a fellow American, photographer Nancy Bundt — an expat residing in Norway for 25 years — guests to the exhibit will be able to witness the photos and stories of a diverse group of Norwegians.

Before the Wilcock Gallery in Excelsior closed in 2015, Keith Wilcock curated several shows a year at the Arboretum. In its more than 20 years of operation, the gallery frequently purchased pieces from artists’ shows for its private collection. Now this rare cache of original art is being shown together. Artists include Tom Foty, Andy Evansen, Ming Feng, Kai Liu, Kate Starling and more.

In this workshop, kids will delight in making hand-built clay containers with a wild and whimsical twist. Each student will add an imaginative character and fun painted patterns to their container by learning sculpting, carving, and painting techniques to add extra pizzazz and personality. Pieces will be clear glazed, fired and ready for pick-up 2-3 weeks after the workshop.

The Academy of Russian Ballet presents its Sixteenth Annual dance production of The Nutcracker classical Ballet in the Minneapolis area. This authentically Russian classical version of the holiday Fairytale is performed by Academy of Russian Ballet dancers. Academy of Russian Ballet Nutcracker performance is faithful to the original Marius Petipa choreography performed in Mariinsky Theatre St. Petersburg Russia.
