When Ellen Redmond of Carver started making her now famous cookies about 30 years ago, she had no idea what she had created. But over the years, as she gave them away to friends and family, and they begged for more and even admitted to hiding them or eating them all in one sitting, she realized her recipe was special. So when her nephew Casey Webber, a graduate of Chaska High School, approached her about starting a company dedicated to selling those cookies, she was on board.
E&C’s Heavenly Hunks (formerly Ella’s Heavenly Hunks) was formed in 2013, and the cookies are now available at Lakewinds Food Co-op, Lunds and Byerly’s, Jerry’s Foods and other locations. The hunks come in four flavors—oatmeal, white chocolate, raisin and chocolate chip—and they happen to be gluten-free, but don’t hold that against them.
