Mr. and Mrs. Claus are taking a break from checking lists and baking cookies for a special visit to Chanhassen. The couple plans to bring all their reindeer to the annual Chanhassen Rotary Breakfast with Santa.
For the first time in 15 years, the Chanhassen Rotary Club is co-sponsoring the event with the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres and moving the event to the theater. “The whole display is going to be amazing at this new [venue], it’s just going to be a more festive atmosphere at the dinner theatres,” says Kris Dahl, an event organizer. “We think the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres will be a perfect way to promote the business of our city: after all, it is the crown jewel of our city.”
Watch the flapjack masters land a pancake on your table from 25 feet away, and add your choice of fixings, including whipped cream, butter, strawberries, blueberries, bananas and more. The theater will also provide beverages.
Along with all the Christmas cheer and pancake flipping, students from local high schools will be volunteering and taking pictures. Bring a camera, and they will take your picture with Santa Claus and his reindeer. “If you’ve never seen Santa’s reindeer, then you definitely need to come,” Dahl says. “We’re hoping Rudolph might make it this year.”
