Chanhassen artist Danlye Jones has a knack for taking a personal story and creating a meaningful work of art. “I love to work on a project with parameters,” says the painter, who often collaborates with clients on special commissions.
While Jones has loved art her entire life, it wasn’t until her sister suggested that she start selling her work on Etsy in 2010 that Jones’ career as an artist took off. After selling her first two pieces, she reinvested her earnings in art supplies and ended up doing really well on the website, she says. Jones sells her work online through Etsy, as well as in local stores.
Her art typically focuses on birds, nature or old buildings, and she thrives on collaboration. Her distinctive style features lots of layers, textures and vibrant colors. “Color is such a powerful thing to have in your home and your life,” Jones says.
