Free Arboretum Admission

Snowshoeing at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
Take a free trip to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum during the month of January.

Has post-holiday cabin fever set in yet? In December, I was overscheduled, and in January, I purposely under-scheduled. It was a few weeks of bliss, but now I'm getting antsy. We're still a few weeks away from the February Festival in Chanhassen, and the temperature is forecasted to plummet yet again, so I'm hoping to get out to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum to chase away the winter blues.

If it's too cold to brave the winter gardens, I'll grab some coffee, log into the wi-fi and get some work done while I admire the orchid tree (on display through February 14). If I'm feeling sporting, I always love snowshoeing on the arboretum grounds, and I keep meaning to check out the sculpture garden covered in snow. Best of all, the arboretum is offering free admission during the month of January, so there's no excuse not to visit.

What are you doing to chase the winter blues away? I'd love to hear about your favorite sledding hills, skiing trails and more.
