Yes, we're stuck in a polar vortex (does anyone else feel like that's a term that belongs in a comic book?), but I'm pretty certain that's not stopping my fellow gardeners from dreaming of digging in the dirt. If you've been perusing seed catalogs or sketching up raised bed designs or debating on when you should start your seedlings indoors, I'd love to hear from you.

Has post-holiday cabin fever set in yet? In December, I was overscheduled, and in January, I purposely under-scheduled. It was a few weeks of bliss, but now I'm getting antsy. We're still a few weeks away from the February Festival in Chanhassen, and the temperature is forecasted to plummet yet again, so I'm hoping to get out to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum to chase away the winter blues.

We're looking for outstanding high school students from the class of 2015, who excel in terms of academics, athletics, arts, activities or volunteerism. The students should be residents of Chanhassen, Chaska, Eden Prairie, Victoria or Waconia, and they should be on track to graduate in the spring of 2015.

I’ve never met a cheese I didn’t like. Cheese on crackers. Cheese with fruit. Cheese with wine. Serve cheese, any cheese and I’m happy. But I especially love quality cheeses served this time of year at cocktail parties and holiday celebrations.
