Chaska's National Education Association Grant

One Chaska school wins $5,000 grant to help new students succeed.

Pioneer Ridge Middle School counselor Megan Gruis and history teacher Sarah Rother received a $5,000 grant from the National Education Association to implement a new program for incoming sixth-graders, Where Everybody Belongs (WEB).
WEB is a national project aimed at smoothing the transition into middle school by helping students build relationships and learn strategies for success. The leaders of WEB are fellow Pioneer Ridge Trailblazers who went through training earlier this month to prepare for the sixth-grade orientation August 24. Gruis and Rother agree the project has been “a great collaboration.” —Caitlin Mitchell
