Minnesota author Lorna Landvik never is afraid to take a chance. She’s performed as a stand-up comic, trekked across the United States to raise awareness of the threat of nuclear war and is the author of eight books, three of which are best-sellers. So when her publishing company opted out of publishing her latest novel, Mayor of the Universe, she decided to do it herself.
Mayor of the Universe is different from Landvik’s previous work, as it is her first foray into science-fiction. Unique only in content and setting, the novel still encapsulates her humor and charm and promotes her attitude of hope present in all of her work.
Join Landvik at Chanhassen Library this month as she discusses Mayor of the Universe and answers your questions. Bring a copy of your favorite Landvik novel, because she will also be signing books. —James McManis
Lorna Landvik will speak at 2 p.m. April 21 at the Chanhassen Library. 7711 Kerber Blvd., Chanhassen; clubbook.org.
