Writer Bios

Originally a Jersey girl, freelance writer Carolyn Pierson is happy to call Minnesota home. She enjoys running around the lakes near her home, moseying through farmers markets, and donning cross-country skis for the better half of the year. February 2011 marked the start of her involvement with Southwest Metro Magazine, and she’s enjoyed conducting interviews and getting to know the community ever since. She can’t wait to receive her copy every month to see what else is going on in the area! When not writing for the magazine or copy editing for Thomson Reuters’ marketing department (her day job), Carolyn can be found with camera in hand, documenting her ongoing house projects or capturing beautiful sunsets over Lake Harriet. Little-known fact: she plays the violin! Carolyn lives in Minneapolis with her husband – but is sure to touch base with her Jersey roots at least twice a year.
