Chanhassen High School senior Sam Buisman is always up for a spirited conversation, and he’s using his activities in high school to help position himself for a career as a lawyer.
Buisman has been the captain of the speech and debate team in his junior and senior years. He also serves as the co-president of his high school’s chapter of the National Honor Society.
With his government teacher, Buisman and a friend founded a political activism group in school, which has expanded into the Chanhassen Political Activism Club, a non-partisan club dedicated to discussing American politics.
Buisman hopes to attend the University of California, Berkeley and major in political science, with the intention of working as an immigration lawyer in the future.
