Why Treaties Matter Exhibit

February 8-March 7 Explore the relationships between Dakota and Ojibwe Indian Nations and the U.S. government in Minnesota through this traveling exhibit created by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. in collaboration with the Minnesota Indian Affairs Council and the Minnesota Humanities Center. The exhibit features a video presentation along with text and images highlighting “how treaties affected the lands and lifeways of the indigenous peoples of this place, and why these binding agreements between nations still matter today.” Carver County Historical Society, 555 W. 1st St., Waconia; 952.442.4234
