Celebrate Winter

Chanhassen’s annual February Festival features snowshoeing, fishing, sledding and more.
Hardy souls at last year’s February Festival.

Chanhassen’s all-ages winter event is back for its 24th year, featuring all the activities we’ve come to love at Lake Ann Park.

The main attraction of the festival is the fishing contest. Anyone can enter the contest with a $10 ticket. All the fish will be weighed and the anglers who catch the 50 biggest fish will receive prizes.

Other events at the festival include horse drawn sleigh rides, ice skating and sledding, and a free door prize ticket, which is available until 1 p.m. Leading up to the festival, look for the Chanhassen Medallion by following cryptic clues from the city and Friends of the Chanhassen Library.

The city of Chanhassen Rotary Club will sell warm drinks, s’mores kits and other snacks. Boy Scout Troop 330 of Chanhassen will be selling live bait.

For the first time this year, Carver County Parks is offering snowshoe demonstrations.
