You know how potato chips and chocolate sound so much more appealing when you're on a diet? Well, since my new baby arrived in July, the idea of a night on the town with grown-ups is just that much more appealing. And it's making it painful to check my inbox these days. I practically cringe when I get something from the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres because it all sounds like so much fun.
So I was particularly saddened when I got the press release for the world premeire of He & She last week. The show, playing at 7:30 p.m. November 18, features illusionist Jared Sherlock, and it's being described as "a dynamic love story in which rich illusions, music, movement and drama emerge to tell the story of two people and their lifetime together."
The show is a part of the theatres' Cabaret Monday Series, and it definitely sounds like an upgrade from my typical Monday night on the couch watching How I Met Your Mother. Tickets are $22 in advance and $25 at the door. So if you find yourself at a time in your life where a Monday night on the town with grown-ups doesn't involve hiring a babysitter and navigating complex logistical challenges like feeding and getting an infant and a toddler into bed before 5 p.m., then I suggest you go— and I'll join you in about three years or so.
