An Eden Prairie expert shares her knowledge during the Divorcing Diva's Happily Ever After conference on Oct. 15.
At the beginning of her career, attorney-at-law and mediator Linda Olup earned herself the nickname "diva of divorce," so it's no surprise that when she ran into Christine Clifford, one of the masterminds behind Divorcing Divas, the two women hit it off immediately.
Olup, of Olup & Associates LLC in Eden Prairie, is the keynote speaker at Divorcing Diva's Happily Ever After conference on October 15 in St. Louis Park. The conference is designed for women who are divorced, going through divorce or contemplating divorce, and it offers information about legal issues, finances, parenting and more.
Olup, who has practiced family law for 35 years, will discuss the past and current state of family law in Minnesota, as well as future trends. When Olup visits with women in her practice, the two most important issues that come up are finances and custody, so she'll also focus on those issues during two separate breakout sessions.
Before choosing a divorce lawyer, Olup recommends interviewing at least two to three attorneys to get a feel for how they think and their different approaches to divorce.
Registration for the conference is $75 in advance and $90 at the door, and the deadline to register is Oct. 12.
