Now that the Arts Consortium of Carver County (ACCC) has its own center to hang its shingle, organizers look forward to 2019.
“One of our favorite events are the receptions at the gallery,” says Cynthia Anderson, ACCC president. “These are full house events with live music and refreshments while [attendees view] the new works of art on display. We will be having at least four artist receptions for the exhibits throughout the year and one for the gift show.”
In addition to offering classes, the art center hosts music programs, pop-up music or art events, and Writers Read gatherings to promote the literary arts. It facilitates and runs Artstock Art Fair, held at Parley Lake Winery, and the Victoria Fine Art Fair.
The ACCC doesn’t risk coming up empty. “Carver County has a plethora of visual artists in a multitude of mediums, musicians and song writers, authors and more,” Anderson says. “We have only touched the surface with the talent I believe is within our county.”
Anderson values the connection between art and communities. “Art promotes business all around and brings in more people as art revives the neighborhoods and communities we live in,” she says. “This is important to Carver County because we are a growing community, and people like to live where they feel there is a lot of opportunity for enriching their lives.”
