Daisy and the Dukes in Victoria

Local rockers switch genres to form Daisy and the Dukes

Daisy and the Dukes, an up-and-coming country band from the southwest metro, is no stranger to the stage. After years of performing in rock bands, lead vocalists Keith and Daisy decided to tap back into their country roots. Both native Minnesotans sang country in their early years, and Daisy even had a stint in Nashville, so the switch to country was quite natural. “It’s where our hearts were and where our voices fit better,” Keith says.

In September 2010 the duo recruited five more band members and officially became Daisy and the Dukes. In less than a year the band has become a staple and crowd pleaser at many local bars, such as Vic’s in Victoria, Mainstreet in Hopkins and even Toby Keith’s Bar in St. Louis Park—their biggest venue to date. “We love it when the crowd is excited and out dancing on the floor … a rowdy crowd is a fun crowd,” Keith says.
