April’s arrival nudges winter’s thaw and awakens our gardens with the many signs of spring! This April also hosts Easter with all the traditional favorites including, of course, the time honored activity of dying eggs.
Can you smell the distilled white vinegar and see the colored capsules dissolve to an explosion of colors? After the eggs dry (or even use faux eggs), get creative, and personalize them with a fancy or sassy initial, monogram, or a full name. Adding a little extra style to this fun-filled tradition doesn’t need to take much time.
Thecreativegirl.com recommends taking whatever type of egg you choose and freehand a letter, monogram or name with a fine tip marker. Go over the element a few times “to add flare.” Then add more character by using other color markers to add embellishments. If you have craft paint on hand, use round tip foam brush to create jaunty polka dots that complement your Easter décor color story.
Add the eggs to Easter baskets, or, if using faux eggs, use them as dining table place cards for guests to take home as a memento.
Welcome spring, Happy Easter!
